iRest® Yoga Nidra is a simple and elegant guided relaxation process, a research-based transformative practice of deep relaxation and meditative inquiry that releases negative emotions and thought patterns, calms the nervous system, and develops a deep capacity to meet any and all circumstances you may encounter in life. Based on an ancient practice, and developed for therapeutic use by psychotherapist and Yogic scholar Richard Miller, PhD., iRest® Yoga Nidra releases stress and helps to resolve traumatic symptoms. Engaging in meditative inquiry while in a deep state of rest, the iRest® Research shows that iRest® Yoga Nidra effectively reduces Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, depression, anxiety, insomnia, Attention Deficit Disorder and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disporder, chronic pain, chemical dependency, and daily stress levels. It is also helpful with increasing energy levels, focus and attention span, confidence, clarity, and an overall sense of calm and peace.
At the very least, students have reported a sense of “shedding their skin” as they come out of an iRest® Yoga Nidra session. Others find solace and peace from issues they’ve been struggling with in their lives as they find perspective and clarity through this modality.
Another brilliant advantage to iRest® Yoga Nidra is that it assists in catching up on sleep debt. Even 10 to 20-minute sessions in the middle of the day help relieve feelings of drowsiness, fatigue, lethargy, and low energy levels.
Practiced in individual Dyad (one-on-one) sessions or in a group setting, this practice is beneficial to everyone, from those seeking a little more calm in their life to those struggling to overcome potentially crippling obstacles.
I am currently booking appointments for iRest® Yoga Nidra sessions, in both Dyad and group formats. Please contact me for more information or to arrange a suitable time for a session. For more information on iRest® Yoga Nidra, please visit the Integrative Restoration Institute (IRI) website.
