Barefoot 1/4″ Hybrid Eco Mat Giveaway Contest

Hybrid - Plum 2I was contacted a few weeks ago by a representative of Barefoot Yoga Company asking if I’d be interested in checking out some of their products for review and giveaway, and I jumped at the offer. Not only am I familiar with Barefoot products, but I have always loved their stuff. The quality is fantastic, which says a lot when it comes to the durability of products that endure a lot of wear and tear, but what I specifically love about their mats is that I don’t slip on them during practice, even when my hands and feet get sweaty. I requested a Barefoot Hybrid Eco Yoga Mat in 1/4″ thickness, knowing I’d be passing it onto someone with full confidence that I was endorsing a product I believed in.

Some info on the mat itself: it doesn’t contain any phthalates or heavy metals, the method of production is completely non-toxic and latex-free, and the mesh scrim (or “skeleton”) of the mat is made from 100% recycled polyester, which contributes to the longevity and strength of the mat. For full product information, follow the hyperlink in the 1st paragraph…and now to the contest details.

The person who wins this contest will be winning the mat for someone else. I want you to comment on this post with your name and the name of the person you want to win the mat for. Comments can be left here on the blog or through any Facebook & Twitter posts promoting the contest. More importantly, I want to know why you want to give the mat to the person you’ve chosen. Share your stories and intentions, and I’ll pick the one that resonates the most with me. The contest will end on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at 18h00 (6pm) EST, and I will announce the winner on my Facebook and Twitter feeds on Wednesday, August 7 by 12h00 (12pm EST). Get those entries in, and do something wonderful for someone in your life!

  1. I would love to win this mat for my little brother Minlyn!

He’s a 12-year-old self-taught yogi that continuously inspires me every day. Although he doesn’t have access to kids yoga classes, his determination, courage, and persistence to work hard towards his goals shines through in his daily practice.

He doesn’t have a yoga mat yet, and I can’t practice with him anymore since we’re in different cities now, but he is the epitome of good intention and success. I would love to send him a yoga mat for his birthday in a few weeks!

  2. I would like to win this mat for my sister Gabrielle who lives just beside Luna and has trouble getting out of the house she has a newborn.
Margo is of age where my sis can step out of the house and practice again.

  3. I’d like my friend Agata Hamciuc to win this contest since I saw her saluting the sun at 6:30 am, on a rocky beach in Benalmadena, Spain! It was amazing her desire to do it.

  4. I would like to win this mat for my sister, Karen. She lives on a farm outside of Montreal, and doesn’t have access to such inspiring and grounded yoga teachers like I do. I hope that her having the mat inspires her to find time in her day to give back to herself. And, best of all, today is her Birthday.

  5. I would like to win this mat for my dad, Berto. He has retired from 30 years as a grocery clerk and now works as a real estate appraiser. He’s worked very hard all his life and I know he has a lot of aches and pains as a consequence of providing for me and my family as I grew up. He has a hard time developing an exercise habit, which I know would help him a lot. He struggles with weight maintenance and I am worried that I won’t get to have him around for as many years as I want to! I would like to give him this mat to get him started on a gently exercise program so he can keep active and keep up with me for many more years to come!

  6. I would love to give this mat to my daughter Silvia. It would be a great way to get her started on the practice at home. When she was little she would climb on my back or roll under my downward dog and make me laugh. She’s 12 now and practices next to me sometimes, but I think having her own mat would encourage her to pursue this wonderful practice, hopefully for life!
